Kanaka O Puna

Kanaka O Puna’s (KOP) mission is to empower and enable kanaka maoli, particularly native Hawaiian men who seek restoration and reconciliation with their ‘ohana (family and community) through its core intervention program, Men of PA’A.

KOP strives to be of service in its community with intent and purpose while fostering partnerships and collaborations with other organizations. They are “People helping people helping people” and are focused on “Aina-based recovery”. Our partnership with them began in late 2020 with volunteer days on the farm. Dragon Heart Farm’s hosts the KOP N. Kohala office on its farm site. Together the organizations are working to develop Men of PA’A programming in N. Kohala to address recovery needs through service and peer-based recovery focused on the farm and with other local organizations needing a workforce.
